The mischievous adventures of our youngest Urban Family memberThe Pens
It is the Easter Holidays and all our Children are off school. Here at Urban we have a kids camp running throughout the holidays so CJ comes along with us, enjoying the fun with all the other children. In fact all the Urban kids LOVE CJ, so he gets unlimited attention. I’m sure you can imagine he absolutely LOVES, being a 2 year old attention seeker!
On this specific day at Easter camp we were running an obstacle course. Everyone is having a great time jumping, hoping, skipping, climbing and crawling. CJ is joining in and making the most out of having fun with his siblings and all the other lovely children at kids camp.
Today seems to be going GREAT, I am able to sit back and do some work that i’ve been needing to complete for weeks. No distractions whilst CJ is entertained by kids camp! What an awesome break for me!
An hour goes by and the kids come off the mats for a snack and a drink. As they sit down at the tables, Aria gets out her felt tips and begins to colour in her unicorn art pad. CJ is sat quietly eating his snack. I’m looking around the room thinking WOW my kids are so good and so well behaved, i’m so lucky. I’m feeling so proud at this point like i’m super-mum. I can take on anything, I ROCK at parenting, I mean just look at my kids! Even my 2 eldest are being awesome. Koby who is 12 is chatting to his friends and relaxing, without moaning that he’s hungry! Brandon who is 18, is our head coach at Urban, he’s running kids camp and keeping all these kids entertained! Who wouldn’t feel proud of themselves as a parent right?
The part where it all goes wrong…
As I am busy working away, feeling on top of the world and achieving the most amount of work I have in a long time. I hear a SCREEEEEAM and “CJ, NOOOOOOO!” This was the loud shriek that came from Aria at her table.
I’m searching for CJ and can’t see him anywhere. I’m now panicking, Aria is crying, and the other children all look a bit confused as to what’s going on.
Then I see it… the problem, the scream worthy issue – there he is CJ! Sat under Aria’s table with a handful of stolen felt tips and a smile ear to ear. He has decided to show how well he can colour in. Oh but this is not just any colouring, no, this was colouring, CJ style. Sat there, happy as Larry, colouring in Aria’s brand new leggings! She suddenly has red, green and blue koalas all over her legs. Aria is crying at the state of her new leggings and CJ just turns to her and asks “What’s the matter Aria? It’s ok I made your clothes pretty!”
All I can say is, thank goodness for washable felts!
